SCOLIOSIS

    • Backache or low-back pain

    • Fatigue

    • shoulders/hips appear uneven

    • Spine curves abnormally to the side

    • Congenital (present at birth): scoliosis is due to a problem with the formation of the spine bones (vertebrae) or fused rubs during development in the womb

    • Neuromuscular: caused by poor muscle control, muscle weakness, or paralysis due to diseases

    • Idiopathic: unknown

    • We can help from the curve from getting worse although it won’t reverse the problem.

    • If someone has low/mild scoliosis:

      • Work within comfortable range of motion

      • Avoid aggressively rotating pelvis

      • Always ask the client how it feels when adjusting the core especially in plank based moves
