#1: Class Count
Trainees must take 30 Core (LP) classes with different instructors, attending at least 4 per month. Classes help trainees study teaching techniques, experience each instructor’s style, and develop their own within the Core (LP) method.
Benefits include access to studio practice, learning videos, materials, feedback, and mentorship.
#2: Online Modules
Trainees must complete all modules, quizzes, and mentor sessions to move towards mocks. The handbook has guided completion dates to keep you on track during your training, but this is a self-led training.
#3: Five Observation Hours (minimum)
Trainees will observe at least five classes taught by staff or senior trainers to study techniques such as cueing, music, energy, trainer-client interactions, and hands-on corrections, building the skills and insight needed to become successful Core (LP) trainers.

#4: 5 Practice Hours (minimum)
Trainees must complete at least 5 hours of practice before teaching mock classes, ensuring mastery of exercises, spring load, transitions, and consistency. All practice guests must sign a waiver. Use the following routines to practice your coaching.
Mock classes, scheduled with a Mentor Trainer, serve as auditions for Community Classes. Typically, 1–3 mocks are needed. Friends may attend, but not existing clients. Ask the Training Team if you need participants.
Community Classes, offered at a discounted rate to the public, are the final audition. Once cleared by the Mentor Trainer they will communicate with the Studio Manager to schedule your Community Class.
**Trainees should never teach an exercise they haven’t practiced. Sign-ups are below.

#5: Mock Test Outs
Schedule a Mock Class. Mock classes are scheduled with a Core (LP) Training & Development Coach and may be held when regular classes are not in session. Trainers and invited guests provide immediate, constructive feedback. Ensure all clients sign a waiver. Typically, trainees take 1–3 mock classes before progressing, though more or fewer may be needed depending on readiness.
After Mock Classes: Trainees meet with the Mentor Trainer for a debrief to review performance, receive feedback, and set goals for improvement.
#6: Community Class Audition
After completing 1–3 successful mock classes, the trainee will be scheduled to teach at least one $18 Community Class. Someone from Training & Development will attend for feedback and evaluation (see evaluation form below). Additional Community Classes may be required depending on performance. You will also need to schedule your onboarding with your home Studio Manager.
Before Class: Greet clients, introduce new clients to the modern reformer, properly use the mic headset, ask about special needs or injuries, set up the room, and ensure clients have grip socks.
During Class: Maintain instructor presence, motivate and engage clients, provide tactical and physical cues, ensure safety, adjust form, offer modifications and variations, manage quick transitions, class flow, timing, and energy.
After Class: Make announcements, congratulate clients, provide wipes, reset the modern reformer, charge mic batteries, turn off fans and lights, and address client questions. Trainees debrief with Training & Development to discuss strengths, areas to refine, and next steps.
