WHAT WE USE

  • Isometric: Muscle contracts but there is not movement

    •  I.e.: holds

  • Concentric: The muscle attachments are moving closer to each other 

    • I.e.: Crunches, bicep curls, bottom of a lunge

  • Eccentric: The muscle attachments are moving away from each other still working even as the muscle lengthens

    • I.e.: Standing from a lunge
