CUEING THE TRANSITION & SET-UP

** This is not necessarily the order. Think of the order as which ever needs to happen first for safety and effective setup.

  1. Lower Body (Hips, Knees, Feet)

  2. Upper Body (Shoulders, Elbows, Hands)

  3. Spine (neutral, rounded, arched)

  4. Gaze (where should they be looking)

Use foundational starting positions to get people transitioning quicker.

  • “Start in a squat with one foot platform other foot carriage”

  • “Lift your knees and float with your spine in a table top position”

    • Other commonly used foundational starting positions

      • diagonal

      • lunge

      • modified plank

Use verbs and action words (direct language) to get clients set

  • “Quickly grab onto the front platform”

  • “Step your toes together at 3”

  • “Press out into your long arm plank”

Get your strongest clients set first then use the advanced clients to help be models

  • “Check out and follow Sally. Her hands are on the platform, or toes are placed on 3. She’s pressed out into her plank” (clients love being the model, use your advanced ones to help get clients where they need to be quicker!
