Exercise is Healthcare

HOW CAN I USE MY HSA/FSA FOR CORE (LP)?

At Core (LP) Berkley + Rochester Hills, MI, we believe exercise is healthcare.

Because exercise is what improves our every day lives. We see it every day. Pilates-inspired strength training improves mobility, supports metabolic health, reduces pain, improves energy, and helps people move better. It’s one of the most consistent, evidence-backed tools we have for long-term health.

So when people ask whether they can use HSA/FSA funds toward their Core (LP) private training or Pilates classes, the answer is often yes, if exercise is being used to prevent or support a medical condition.

Here’s how it works.

WHAT IS AN HSA OR FSA ACCOUNT?

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow you to use pre-tax dollars for eligible medical expenses.

While fitness classes and personal training don’t automatically qualify, they can qualify when a licensed provider recommends exercise to help prevent or manage a medical condition.

To make that possible, you’ll need a Letter of Medical Necessity from a qualified provider.

We partner with Dr. B, a tele-health service that connects you with licensed medical providers in all 50 states.

HOW IT WORKS

Start a $15 medical consultation, no video required.

A licensed provider will review your health history and current condition. If you qualify, they’ll send your fitness recommendations and your Letter of Medical Necessity within 3 business hours.

From there, you can submit your letter and Core (LP) receipts (purchased on or after the date of your letter) to your HSA/FSA administrator for potential reimbursement.

WHO IS MR. B?

Dr. B provides affordable telehealth consultations with licensed providers across the country. Patients can receive online medical guidance for a wide range of conditions, and eligible individuals may receive a Letter of Medical Necessity that allows fitness-related expenses to be reimbursed through HSA/FSA accounts.
