Why We Start With a Consult Before Your First Class at Core (LP)

“Why can’t I just book a class?”

“Is this just a sales call?”

“Do I really need to talk to someone first?”

We get these questions all the time, and honestly, fair. Most fitness studios want as few barriers to entry as possible. Click a button, book a class, figure it out when you get there.

That’s just not how we do things at Core (LP). Because while skipping straight to class might feel easier upfront, it’s usually the reason people end up frustrated, inconsistent, injured, or starting over again three months later.

The consult exists to stop that cycle before it starts.

EVERYONE STARTS DIFFERENTLY

No one walks into a studio with the exact same body, history, or goals. Some people are rebuilding strength postpartum. Some are experienced lifters looking for mobility and stability work. Some haven’t worked out consistently in years but are finally ready to commit to something again.

Experience level matters. Injuries matter. Confidence matters.

Throwing everyone into the same starting point without context usually leads to one of two things:

  • someone feels overwhelmed and never comes back

  • or someone never gets challenged enough to actually progress

Neither helps people get results. The consult gives us the information we need to coach you properly from the start.

YOU KEEP “TRYING THINGS” BECAUSE YOU DON’T HAVE A PLAN

Most people aren’t inconsistent because they’re lazy. They’re inconsistent because they keep bouncing between workouts without any real structure behind what they’re doing.

One class here.
A challenge there.
A random membership somewhere else.

There’s no progression. No guidance. No understanding of what their body actually needs.

That stops here.

The consult is where we pair:

  • your goals

  • your current fitness level

  • the right class style

  • the right intensity

  • and the right modifications or advancements

So instead of just “taking classes,” you actually have direction.

IT MAKES YOUR FIRST CLASS BETTER

Walking into a reformer class blindly can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never used the machine before. The consult removes a lot of that uncertainty.

You know what the workout is.
You know what to expect.
You understand the machine, the pace, and how the coaching works.

That means your first class feels less like surviving something unfamiliar and more like learning how to train so you progress faster.

IT’S WHY PEOPLE STICK WITH IT AND SEE RESULTS

When expectations are unclear, people feel lost fast.

Most people typically don’t quit workouts because they’re incapable of consistency. They quit because they never felt connected to what they were doing in the first place. But when someone feels supported, appropriately challenged, and understands where they’re headed, consistency becomes a lot easier.

That’s why we start this way. Not to make things harder.

To help you stop restarting your fitness routine every few months and finally build something that lasts.

At Core (LP) in Berkley and Rochester Hills, we use the consult to match clients with the right starting point based on goals, injuries, and experience level.

And honestly? It’s one of the biggest reasons people stay and see results.
