      <image:caption>Unfortunately, I have had chronic pain since I was 14 which has gotten worse with time. When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at a younger age, I was given medications to help the pain and while trying physical therapy, chiropractic relief, massages, stints of gym memberships, I was not able to stick to a consistent fitness routine as I would somehow injure myself or exacerbate the pain - even if I were just walking! While yoga classes provided temporary relief, at some point I accepted the chronic and pervasive pain as part of my life and became hopeless and then resigned to it.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I think I hit a moment of desperation/frustration where my pain had gotten significantly worse in 2023, where I had new bouts of inflammation in my wrists and elbows, which was alarming to say the least. I also knew a lot of my back/hip pain was a result of my very weak core. I stumbled upon 'Core' (LP) and was intrigued by the name. I spent so long looking at Judy's website and being intrigued by the emphasis on both strength training and increasing flexibility (again, stretching is where I found some relief). I will be honest - I was incredibly intimidated to attend a class because of how chronically weak I thought my body was. I finally decided to call Judy and rambled on about my laundry list of 'problems.'</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I think it's hard to point to one thing I love the most! The instructors are wonderful at Core (LP). While most of my classes are with Judy &amp; Danielle due to my work schedule, I have taken a few classes with Arsharel &amp; Nicole who are also wonderful. All the instructors somehow know each person's injuries/areas of concerns, and are mindful of checking in mid-session while providing personalized modifications during specific moves. The small sized classes are amazing! A normal occurrence in classes with Judy includes her coming by and adjusting you. She always checks in to make sure my core is properly engaged (which also prevents injuries). For example, when she adjusted me yesterday, it completely changed the entire move for me (and again, I discovered new muscles that I didn't know existed!). Just when you think you have figured out a move, she performs a minor adjustment and completely elevates its effectiveness! It is true what they say - it doesn't get easier but you become stronger.</image:caption>

Since starting at Core (LP), I have been able to take smaller steps in my health journey by finding answers to some of my other mysterious inflammatory symptoms.</image:caption>

Back in 2017 moving back to Metro-Detroit from Los Angeles, I had no idea how I would open a Lagree studio, but knew that it was a Method that I wanted the people of the Midwest to experience and benefit from like I had. This past year has been a year of true adventure. We’ve planked, piked, and discovered that we crave that shaking feeling more than what most people would think is normal! It may sound silly to say a workout changed your life, but I’m telling you, it has physically, mentally, and emotionally transformed how I move, how I communicate, and how I connect with others. I am honored that you have trusted us along your wellness journey and look forward to many more years (or long-plays) to come!       <image:caption>I've always loved being active and pushing myself, finding out I can do things I didn't think I could do. But as I've gotten older, fitness has become just as much about the mental benefits. I'm a happier, calmer, more patient person after getting a workout in. It's the 1 hour a day where it is all about ME, and then the rest of the day I can do what I need to do to be a good wife, mother (to-be), daughter, friend, employee, etc. Back in 2017 I had a preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction, and the privilege that is working out and moving my body became so incredibly clear to me. It took me 1.5 months to get my pec muscles strong enough to drive a car again. It took me 6 months to do a push-up. Now I really feel like every workout is such a privilege - our bodies let us do SO many amazing things every day that we take for granted!</image:caption>

I immediately started researching Megaformer classes back in Michigan and basically stalked Core(LP) for months eagerly awaiting their opening. I loved Core(LP)'s mission and couldn't wait to try a class.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Omg where do I even start. The environment and the teachers are so supportive, so welcoming; it is genuinely the best start to my day. I walk in the door in the mornings and Judy is there to greet you with a smile, Arsharel already has great music going...you can't help but feel glad to be there. I love the camaraderie you quickly build with other people in class - we're all making faces, grunting, cursing even - but we make it through! I also love how small the class sizes are; the teachers do an amazing job of giving personal attention to each person to check their form and offer modifications or advancements. It's an incredible high-intensity, low-impact workout that has served me in so many ways outside of class. I'm a faster runner, my core is SO much stronger...it's a win win!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I'm an Arsharel regular and sometimes I think just living through class is a huge accomplishment  my husband swears my booty looks better than ever and I credit Arsharel for that entirely. There are so many little accomplishments along the way though: an advanced move that in the moment I don't think I can do, but I'll be able to do it for 5 seconds, then 10 seconds, then 15 seconds...or after a few months of classes, I started finding I was able to add another yellow spring for some moves. All these little victories along the way that have led to a stronger version of myself both mentally and physically.</image:caption>

It’s very easy to be intimidated in a new fitness space, but I felt very welcomed. I also LOVE how much stronger I have gotten in my core and lower body; the results have been incredible and extremely motivating to continue on with my practice in Lagree.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>For me it was strengthening areas that I am still adjusting postpartum as I gave birth less than a year ago now.  My hip flexors are naturally very tight, and Lagree has helped me so much to stretch and lengthen those muscles.  I also love that the entire workout focuses in on active core engagement and deep pelvic floor muscles.</image:caption>

Our clients come to the studio all the time looking for the right 'activity' setting for Lagree -- as most watches don't have a default way to track your Megaformer workout.  Wearables have been billed as a way to monitor physical activity and track progress towards fitness goals. Now, they’re often marketed as essential to keeping track of your health. And while they may seem like a helpful tool, relying too heavily on these devices can have negative consequences on both physical and mental health.</image:title>

Calorie burn, exercise intensity, steps, distance, heart rate, sleep, pulse ox, VO2 max – while your watch might show you tons of data about your body on a daily basis, chances are pretty good that it’s not a fully clear picture.  With so many variables, like weight, height, BMI, etc…. it’s no surprise that the data your watch shows you every day isn’t completely accurate. We’re still making massive strides and advances in the technology used in formal medical settings.  The sensors in your watch also struggle to “see” through some skin tones, or tattoos.       <image:caption>So often we stretch our shoulders and triceps, but we forget to stretch our neck. Our necks and backs are two places that tend to carry a lot of our stress and deserve a deep stretch both before and after your Core (LP) 1-1. To set up, Look down to the right corner of the room you’re in. Place your right arm behind your back, clasp your right wrist with your left hand, and gently pull just enough so you feel the stretch towards the back of your neck. To stretch different parts of your neck, slow move your head around. Deeper Stretch To release even more tension, try pulling a little more on your wrist vs. reaching your head further down. Remember, we don’t want to strain our muscles!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>So much of the work we do in every day life (and the Mega) involve our glutes. To really stretch your perfect peach take one heel on top of your opposite knee and carefully sit down into a squat. From there gently press your top knee down toward the floor. You should feel this alongside the outer party of your cheek. Stay here for at least 20 seconds (yes at least 20) before switching to the other side. Deeper Stretch If you want a deeper stretch, hold on to your Megaformer high bars or TRX straps and sit extra low. You can also take deep breaths and sink your top knee lower with each exhale.</image:caption>

Instead of reaching straight down for your toes or separating your feet, try crossing one leg over the other and letting your torso and up hinge forward. This stretch will lengthen your hamstring and release some of the tension you might have in your glutes. Deeper Stretch Take your time getting lower into this stretch by taking deep breaths in. It is very common to only come to the top of the calf. Never force yourself to go lower than your body wants to that day.</image:caption>

In 2015, while training for her first half marathon in Los Angeles, Judy stumbled upon Pilates-Inspired Strength Training and instantly fell in love. After years of teaching fitness, she had never experienced such an effective blend of high intensity and low impact — one that quickly lost weight around her core, built lean muscle, and helped her finish her training injury free with a strong PR. As a lifelong singer and music educator, Judy has always believed in the power of music and movement. Music improves coordination, focus, energy — and honestly, it just makes everything more fun. That’s why Core (LP) was born: a name that nods to both vinyl records and the long-play journey of building real strength. After training at top Lagree studios across both coasts for over five years, Judy brought her knowledge and passion back to Metro Detroit. From one machine in her home to a full studio, she created a space where clients learn how to safely tailor Pilates-style equipment for their body, understand the movement, and leave empowered to progress safely and effectively.
